THE NINE LIVES OF MONTEZUMA BY Killian Gallagher 4th Class

Montezuma is the main character in the book. He’s a ginger cat with a white patch on his throat with crumpled ears. He is lucky to be alive. He lives on a farm with loads of animals.

It could be difficult to live on a farm for a young tom cat like Montezuma.
Matthew is the owner of Montezuma A.K.A monty. The dad doesn’t like cats but he seems to like Montezuma. I wonder why? Will monty make any friends or foes

I would recommend this book for 10+ not because it’s hard to understand it has pretty hard words. I rate this book 4/5
My favourite character is either Montezuma or old Syd

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Heather Duncan 3rd Class

Harry Potter is s a boy and a wizard. I like the Harry Potter books they are very interesting. The book makes me feel that I’m interested in what’s going to happen. The book is a bit scary. But I do like it. Harry’s friends are Ron and Hermione. The books a bit scary but I still think it’s good. Harry and Ron find out where the Chamber of Secrets is. Harry and Ron go into the Chamber of Secrets and Gildroy Lockhart went in with them and Harry said that they stay. So Gildroy Lockhart and Ron stayed and waited till Harry got back. When Harry reached the Chamber of Secrets Harry met T.M Riddle. Harry Potter saved Ginny Weasly from the Chamber of Secrets. I love the Harry Potter books they are good to read. It was scary when Harry and Ron wend into the forest when there was lots of spiders. I think you should be over nine to read the Harry Potter books and be in 3rd class to read them. I don’t think younger children should read it because there’s a lot of big words in the book and I don’t think they will under stand. It mite be a bit scary for them

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Book by Hazel Moriarty 6th class

The main character is Harry Potter. Hermione Granger is one of Harry’s best friends and is the bookworm of the group. Ron Weasley is Harry’s other friend and is usually in trouble or detention with Harry. Ginny is Ron’s younger sister and is in her first year at Hogwarts. T.M.Riddle is also mentioned a lot.

We start off at the Durslys house where Harry is getting treated badly. He then gets rescued by the Weasley and spends the rest of the summer at their house. They then meet the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart in Diagonal Alley. When they arrive at Hogwarts things start to spiral out of control. The Chamber of Secrets has been opened and Harry,Ron and Hermione are determined to find out who did.

I really enjoyed this book as it is very funny and can be hilarious at times. My favourite part is when they find out who opened the Chamber as it is very funny and entertaining. There was quite a few scary and funny parts. Such as the time when Dobby came to the Durslys to warn Harry about something. ” Harry Potter is valiant and bold! He has braved so many dangers already! But Dobby has come to protect Harry Potter, to warn him, even if he does have to shut his ears in the oven door later…Harry Potter must not go back to Hogwarts.” The quote is from Dobby when he came to warn Harry not to go back to Hogwarts. There was also when they told Professor McGonagall that they were going to visit Hermione in the Hospital Wing. “We haven’t seen her in ages, Professor and we thought we’d sneak into the hospital wing, you know, and tell her the Mandrakes are nearly ready and, er, not to worry.” The quote was from Harry trying to convince Professor McGonagall that they were going to visit Hermione.

I would recommend it for children aged 10+ as it can be very confusing at times such as when Ginny was about to tell them something but Percy interrupted them. ” If you’ve finished eating, I’ll take that seat, Ginny. I’m starving, I’ve only just come off patrol duty.” This quote is from Percy Weasley as he interrupts Harry, Ron and Ginny at breakfast. At the same time it is very entertaining to read.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets by Grainne Phillips 6th

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the second instalment of a series of seven books.

Harry Potter is the main character in this story as it revolves around him. The other characters include Ronald Weasly and Hermione Granger who are Harry’s best friends. Ron and Hermione help Harry to victory. They also help him in tricky situations. Ginny Weasly is also in this story and she is Ron’s sister. She also is a big part in the story towards the end.

This book starts off with a visit from a house elf Dobby who comes from the wizarding world to warn Harry about danger at Hogwarts. Harry decided not listen to Dobby as he returns to Hogwarts for another year with the help of the Weaslys. When Harry returns to Hogwarts they find that Dobbys theory comes to pass as people are being mysteriously attacked. But the question is will Harry,Ron and Hermione solve the mystery and find the culprit ?!

I enjoyed this book as I found it quite Interesting I really enjoyed the parts where Dobby comes visiting Harry as I love this character !

I would recommended this book as it is very exciting and page-turner and it doesn’t start of boring. I would recommend this read to anyone who enjoys mystery. I would also rate this book 4/5 as it is a very good read and it can be very exciting.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Dylan Carney 6th Class

At the start of the book the Weasleys rescue Harry and bring him to their house the burrow. The rescued Harry because he hates his cousins the Dursleys because they treat him very badly. He uses floo powder for the first time to go to Diagon Alley to get his school books. Floo powder is a powder that you go up to a fireplace and drop the powder and say where you are going.

Harry and Ron couldn’t get through platform 9 three quarters so they use Rons dads car to fly to Hogwarts. Ron and Harry get to Hogwarts after all but they nearly got expelled ” You were seen Flying Ford Anglia Mystifies Muggles ” Professor Snape said reading the newspaper headline. We meet new characters in the book like Dobby, Gilderoy Lockhart and Tom Riddle. Weird stuff is happening in Hogwarts.

Will Harry survive at Hogwarts? I gave the book 4 out of 5 because it was very scary with people getting attacked and the chamber of secrets was open again. It was very funny as well. I would recommend it for 10+. It was a very interesting book.

Reaching The Heights Book Review
In this story we have three main characters Tosh, Naylor and Aisling the story is set in Cork. Tosh is a sporty teenager and very outgoing, Naylor is smart and isn’t a big fan of football and Aisling is kind and loves to cycle her bike. They all attend Freemount secondary school

My favourite part of the book is when they uncover this mystery because there is a really cool twist to it. If you want to know what it is then you will just have to read! I rate this book 10/10 because I really enjoyed it and it’s a real page turner and I love the fact it’s about friendship. I recommend this book 11+ because there are some aggressive parts such as drugs, loan sharks and financial problems.

Reaching the Heights

Reaching the Heights is based in Cork. The three main characters are Tosh, Naylor, and Aisling. Tosh and Naylor live in McGillicuddy Heights (the pour part) while Aisling lives in the richer part. The three teenagers have very difficult family problems especially Naylor. There is a lot of gangs, bad language and difficult words to understand. Let’ stalk about their personalities. Naylor is quite nerdy because a lot of people call him ‘Professor’. Aisling is very pretty according to Tosh. Tosh is very tall for his age, he his very good at football and he respects his manager (Gary Quigley).
But, there’s a big enough twist to this story.
I rate this book 9.5/10.

Reaching The Heights

The book is set in Mac Gillicuddy Heights Cork where we focus on 3 teenagers and their troubles. We first meet Naylor and Tosh who live in the Heights. Naylor is determined persevering and loyal to his family and friends. Then there’s Tosh who’s lovesick in this story and he’s funny kind and intelligent. We then meet Aisling who lives in the richer part of the city. Aisling is loyal and kind.

Tosh,Naylor and Aisling have a solid friendship in this book as they are loyal kind and forgiving which makes a good friendship but there could be more between Tosh and Aisling (but you have to read to find out) as there is a bit of ❤️love❤️ in this book. The community they live in is very strong as they stick together. That doesn’t mean all happy family though as there are a lot of cases of drinking, drugs, gangs, financial and social problems so it might not be for everyone.

I loved this book as it didn’t take long to be exciting and it was also funny and I would definitely rate it 10\10 but I think it should be 11+ as some of the themes might not be suitable for 11-

Charlottes Web Class Novel

Charlottes Web is one of the best books I have ever read. The best bit is Avery as a clown at the fair.  My favourite character is Wilbur.  He was going to be meat for dinner, but Charlotte helped him by writting words on her web.  She wrote, some pig, terrific, radiant and humble. Charlotte is a spider and Wilbur is a pig.  They are very good friends.  Templeton is a rat.  He is very greedy. Charlotte has baby spiders. She had a hundred and fourteen of them. Most of her babies flew off on there balloons. Three of them stayed. Some of their names are Joy,Nellie and Arnia. They are very nice. They have more babies and then they have more babies. This is a happy book. Mr Zuckerman was very happy When he got his price mone.  He let Wilbur stay  and didn’t kill him for Christmas dinne.  Templeton got even fatter because he ate  too much food.  Wilbur stayed happy ever afte.  Fern grew older and Avery got older too.

They all go to the school, Freemount Secondary School. Naylor lives with his mum and Tosh lives with just his dad. Naylor and Aisling are really good friends and Tosh is more then her friend! My Review of Harry Potter and the

Philosopher’s Stone

I thoroughly enjoyed the Harry Potter book and didn’t find one bit of it boring.

My favourite part of the book was near the end when Harry, Ron and Hermione had to defeat each of the teacher’s tasks in order to save someone’s life. I enjoyed it because it was very exciting and definitely a page-turner.

My least favourite part of the book was when the Summer Holidays came at Hogwarts and the book ended.

I think I enjoyed the book so much because when you began to read it, it took you to a world full of magic and adventure. It was one of the best books I’ve ever read!
